Joe, my childhood and the Calvary Baptist Church, but most of all the truth of the song. God Bless.

A Child of the King
One day a prince was riding through the forest near the castle were he lived. In the distance he heard the sound of a wood-chopper, busily engaged in the task of chopping wood. Farther down he hear the sound of singing, he rode and listed to see if he could tell what was being sung. As he listened, this is what he heard.
My Father is rich in houses and lands, he holdeth the wealth of the world in his hands! Of rubies and diamonds, of silver and gold, His coffers are full, He has riches untold.
I’m a child of the King, a child of the King, with Jesus my Saviour, I’m a child of the King.
The prince rode on through the forest and came to the clearing where the wood-chopper was working. He stopped, dismounted and said to the wood-chopper "I do no see how you can claim to be the child of a king. To be a child of the King you must be born into the family of the King, such as myself. You, well you are the son of a poor wood-chopper, just like yourself. How then can you claim to be the child of the King" To this, the wood-chopper made the following reply.
I once was an outcast stranger on Earth, A sinner by choice, and an alien by birth; But I’ve been adopted my name’s written down, An heir to a mansion, a robe and a crown
I’m a child of the King, a child of the King, with Jesus my Saviour, I’m a child of the King.
The prince the said to the wood-chopper "I still do not see how you can claim to be the child of the King. Children of Kings live in palaces, like in the one such as I live, and you live in a little cottage in a clearing in the woods. With a wood-chopper for a father, a cottage for a home, How can you pretend to be a child of the King?" To this , the wood-chopper made the following reply.
A tent or a cottage why should I care, they’re building a palace for me over there; Tho’ exiled from home, yet still I may sing: All glory to God, I’m a child of the King
I’m a child of the King, a child of the King, with Jesus my Saviour, I’m a child of the King.

Is this true love?

Imagine two people about to be wed, going out to dinner. As the man looks into his future brides eyes he says "I love you with all of my heart". She is overwhelmed thinking about it. Then the waitress comes to the table, and he says to her "I love you with all my heart". A little taken back, "Who was that?" she asks. "Oh, I don’t know, but I love her." Then they leave and go to a gas station, he pays for the gas and says to the attendant "I love you with all my heart". "Who was that?" she wondered. "I don’t know" he replies again. He stops at a red light, rolls down his window to the stranger next to him and says "I love you with all my heart".
"I guess you don’t know her either?" He turns and looks deep in her eyes and says "I sure don’t, but I love her, just as I love you."
Is this a perfect love? Will Jesus say I love you, then say I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity?
This is true love!
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. How do we deal with each other?

1) Lowliness-humility of the mind.
Don’t think you are better or more important that others in the church. Don’t think you are the church, but member of it.
2) Meekness-humility in action.
Mild of temper, soft, gentle, not easily provoked or irritated; yielding; given to forbearance under injuries

You may have the wrong idea about meekness, and think of it as weakness. You may think that being meek and lowly means that you are weak. Who do you think was perhaps meekest man in the O.T. was? Would you have guessed Moses? Num 12:3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
Moses was strict in the Law, a Judge. Moses said do this and live or don’t do this or die. He is known for the Law and enforcing it. Standing for the truth is all our responsibility, and we can never compromise. But our verse doesn’t mean compromise and keep unity at all cost, and at the expense of the truth, but to consider others more than yourself. To put others before yourself.
We put lowliness and meekness together along with longsuffering, or patience. This means knowing that you’re a sinner saved by grace and so is you brother. If you are lowly in mind, you will understand that. If you are meek, when a brother offends you, you won’t throw a fit, but be gentle and humble. Then you will be longsuffering with them. Patient. Forgiving. Not taking everything personally, not to make a handshake the end of the world etc.
Then with that, forbearing one another in love. You might not want to read this part. It means to put up with, suffer, to hold one up. So we are to patiently put up with people, in love. We should be kind to our brothers and sisters who have perhaps done us wrong. Forbearing doesn’t bean you forbear me, but means get over it.

Psalm 119:2

Psalm 119:2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
Blessed are those who are saved. Consider the blessings of being a child of the King. Blessed are the save, the blood bought friends of God. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, if you love me, keep my commandments. Those that love God, those that are loved of God will keep His laws. Blessings come from obedience and God blesses those that keep his testimonies. Blessed, or how happy are those that follow His word. The saddest and most miserable of all people may very well be the born again believer in rebellion. There is joy in serving God, and doing what he commands us to do. Blessed are they that seek him with the whole heart. How happy are those that seek him. And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. (Matthew 5:1-12). Blessed are they that seek HIM, Jesus. Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. They that seek him with their whole heart. With everything, they seek him, all rests upon the Lord Jesus. Anchored to Him, where he leads, there I will go, for he is faithful that promised. How can we do anything but follow him. First through repentance, then through service, our life as Christians is seeking Jesus with the Whole heart. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. (Matthew 22:37-38). Truly the antinomian miss out on the happiness. Their liberty has robbed them of the joy of obeying God.

More on Family Worship from AW Pink

"Family worship should be conducted reverently, earnestly and simply. It is then that the little ones will receive their first impressions and form their initial conceptions of the Lord God. Great care needs to be taken lest a false idea be given them of the Divine Character, and for this the balance must be preserved between dwelling upon His transcendency and imminency, His holiness and His mercy, His might and His tenderness. His justice and His grace. Worship should begin with a few words of prayer invoking God’s presence and blessing. A short passage from His Word should follow, with brief comments thereon. Two or three verses of a Psalm may be sung. Close with a prayer of committal into the hands of God. Though we may not be able to pray eloquently, we should earnestly. Prevailing prayers are usually brief ones. Beware of wearying the young ones."

A.W. Pink said concerning family worship:
"An old writer well said, “A family without prayer is like a house without a roof, open and exposed to all the storms of Heaven.” All our domestic comforts and temporal mercies issue from the loving-kindness of the Lord, and the best we can do in return is to gratefully acknowledge together, His goodness to us as a family. Excuses against the discharge of this sacred duty are idle and worthless. Of what avail will it be when we render an account to God for the stewardship of our families to say that we had no time available, working hard from morn till eve? The more pressing be our temporal duties, the greater our need of seeking spiritual succor. Nor may any Christian plead that he is not qualified for such a work: gifts and talents are developed by use and not by neglect."

There will be more to follow on this topic. Think about it.

OK, lets think about it. The world just so happened to come together in a violent explosion, that random molecules, never mind where they came from, but all at one time happened to come together and make our planet which is 7926 miles in diameter. Then it happend to take place next to a sun, and by chance it was close enough for the heat that we wouldn’t freeze, but not too close that all things would burn up (From the total radiation of heat of the sun, 47 percent reaches the earth's surface. The other 53 percent gets absorbed or reflected in different ways: by clouds, by steam, dust and gases in the air, by the atmosphere, by land and oceans and by clouds. That was a lucky thing to happen!) And then, "luckliy" there was such a thing as gravity, to have the earth orbit the sun at a speed of 65,000 mph, but don’t think how we are traveling 65,000 mph right now, and are just sitting here. Never mind where gravity came from and that the earth exploded together with just enough mass to have just the right amount of gravity, not to be crushed by it or float away. Never mind that in the vastness of space that this earth, day in day out in 24 hour peroids never fails to make a full revolution, with out making so much as a sound, and all that man has ever tried to do hasn’t slowed that down. Never mind the we are "floating" in the vastness of space, that just so happened to be in a spot that could only habitate any type of life. For anyone to say that all this just came about by some violent chance, and it all worked out so perfectly and that this viloent, unexpected event happened, yet has maintained perfectly since in smooth uninterupted motion since is not a man of science, but a man of faith. Faith in an imaginary story. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works (psa 14:1) Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. I believe that the church is an "ekklesia" or local called assembly established during Jesus’ earthly ministry (Luke 6:12; I Cor 12:28). The church Jesus established is a divine institution that has and will remain on the Earth until the rapture ( Matt. 16:18). The church is made up of penitent baptized believers (Acts 2:41) who have the baptism of John (Acts 1:22) who was sent by God to baptize and make ready a people prepared for the Lord (John 1:6; Luke 1:17). Baptism is by immersion only and there is no other mode, and this was the baptism that pleased God (Matt 3:13-17). The divine order to baptize was given the Lord’s New Testament Church, and no other assembly has the authority to baptize (Matt 28:18-20). The church is a local (I Cor 14:23; Acts15:22) independent body (Acts 11, 13:3) whose only head is Jesus (Eph 5:23). The Church has disciplinary authority (I Cor 5:1-7; Matt. 18:15-17) and can not administer the ordinances beyond that authority. The Lord’s Supper, which consists of unleven wine and unleven bread, after the patterns set by our Lord (Luke 22:19-20; I Cor 11:23-34) is for the local church members only. The Lord’s Church is a missionary church (Matt 28:19-20) that operates solely by tithes and offerings (I Cor 165:1-2) and only by the authority of a true church (Acts 11: 22-26). The church meets on the first day of the week(Acts 20:7; I Cor 16:1-2), to worship in spirit and in truth. The Lord’s Church has two offices, Pastor (I Tim 3:1-7) and Deacons (I Tim 3:7-16). The pastor is the ordained overseer and under-shepherd of the assembly. Deacons are the officially recognized servants in the church (Acts 6:1-7).

Love Your Enemies

Matthew 5:43-48 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. Loving your neighbour isn’t a new concept that Jesus taught. In fact, it was clearly written in the Old Testament law. Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD. Jesus said you have heard love your neighbour and hate your enemy, but if you take a concordance and look up the scriptures w/the word hate, you will find a lot of scriptures, but you won’t find a command to hate your enemies. The Jews had added to the Law, making their interpretation of it, and adding that to the Law. So they thought since the law said they had to love their neighbour, then a neighour would be someone who was there friend and believed like them, so they loved them, but if they were not there neighbour, then well, I must hate him because how can I get love some one who hates me, especially since I am always right about everything. They didn’t have much right about the passage. They added hate thine enemy, they also left out loving your neighbour as thyself, which is a big difference. Jesus didn’t come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it, and He corrected them and taught the true command of God (44) But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; (45) That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. (46) For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? (47) And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? (48) Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. We read that after Jesus finished preaching in Matt 7, that the people were astonished at his doctrine. And I imagine that they were. Taking our topic alone, Jesus showed that all were sinners and have come way short of the glory of God. Who here has kept this commandment always? Oh how I am guilty. Even the most pious of you are guilty, the most tenderhearted, giving soul is guilty. How this verse shows a great need of a great saviour. You may think that you are no different than anyone else, which is true. You also may think that all are sinners, which is true also. But where does that leave you? With out Christ it leaves you with a lot of company, on your way to Hell. But hear the words again, For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. Rom 5:10-11Think about this passage, and examine yourselve. Don’t think about your neighbour, and how much he needs this. Examine self.

Romans 8:18

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
I think, or I conclude that the sufferings that we will go through, no matter there extent will be far outweighed by the glory which shall be rvealed in us. Not a equal amount for equal suffering, but so much more given to us, so much more for us, so much more revealed in us in Heaven with Christ, that any suffering for Christ in this life, not only can't be compared, but it’s not even in the conversation. It isn't even worthy to be compared with. Paul was not one to pout and feel sorry for himself. Think all that he went through, and if anyone could say woe is me, it would be him. But he says compared to what he will receive, the sufferings of this life are in the same picture. Some say "is it worth it?" . All that the Christian "gives up" or does for God. Paul isn't even talking about service to God, but says that because of service, we will suffer, and our troubles, and heartaches, if it is to be held up beside what we shall receive, would so dwarf our sufferings in this life, that it would be valueless to even try to compare them!
